This isn't exactly "Old Buildings and Streets", more like "Revamped Buildings and
Streets". I speak of the Council's proposals for redeveloping the White Rock Area. Looks good to me. What do others think?

Looks good to me. I like the palm trees will you have the climate to go with it?

Some good ideas but needs more thought in my opinion.

I can see it being very windy in that location and the seating area next to the road would be noisy. Looks like strictly a summertime place to hang out.

Maybe the money would be better spent doing something with bottle alley?

I agree with Geoff - he states the exact problem to my mind.
Th whole seaward side of the promenade is prone to moderate winds which can be unsettling and cold.
I often walk along the area near picture 1. (can't remember it's official name) but it has no sheltered seating whatsoever and whilst it may be otherwise generally warm, there is no respite from the wind unless you lie down on the hard concrete areas surrounding the water.
The 'White Rock Hotel' side of the road opposite is often alarmingly baking hot at the same time, so some thought needs to go into this.
(Funny what a difference it makes in the zone just across the road by the buildings.)

Generally a lack of planning with these factors in mind as the seating on the seaward side of the promenade is totally exposed to the cooling wind at all times.

'Day-dream' Artist's pictures are a total joke if they don't relate to the reality of the situation.

I live in Western Australia, we have those palms here, and they drop a lot of litter,more thought is needed on any trees planted in that area.
