Latecomer here - I can recommend the Old_maps site, which has a 1:500 map of Hastings from 1875 http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html

For instance co-ordinates 582334 109426, the Bellevue is NW tip of south side of West St, with another building on its south and facing the channel.

On the north side there are 7 buildings to its west, behind which sits a short road which fronts the annex to the Albion.

Also to east Druids Inn, Anchor, Queen Adelaide, Rising Sun, Lugger, Market Tavern, Cutter. Lighthouse is shown, but nothing to say it's a pub.

Move the focus around for others. Just noticed it even shows the track of the Town Wall !. And two breweries across the road from each other.

Devil boy DJ in The Pied Piper was named Tony. My mum and dad were friends with Teddy and Carol and we used to come down and stay with them at the weekends. After the pub in Islington they went to live in Tenerife minus devil boy. Sadly we found out that Carol passed away recently but we have been unable to make contact with any of the family

Awwww damn she was a lovely woman, she once paid me 30.00 to whitewash the cellar, the pair of them liked a good party....... Tony will have a wry smile knowing he is being talked about ( re the omen haha) had some great nights in the pied piper ( lock-ins) Sad to hear of carols death tho, as the last time I saw her was when I visited them in islington the duke of Wellington. Thanks for the info
