Further to my request in October I have come across the name of this home which was situated in the Hollington area of St Leonard's in the 1950s. An industrial site now sits where the home used to be. Does anyone living in the Hastings area or know of someone who could throw any light on this particular home I would be very grateful. Further info - all girls; we believe it was not run by a religious order; we think it was opposite Buckets and Spades. Thank you. Ian

It used to be Brentwood School, and as you say - all girls - I believe there were about twenty or so. They were not a religious order but they used to attend the services at Hollington Church in the Wood where I was a choir boy in the early 1960's. I believe some of the past pupils keep in touch via the Friends Reunited web site as the establishment was a registered private school.
