Pilot Road

Postby angela_parmakis » Sun Apr 16, 2006 12:40 pm

I am researching the history of my house - one of a line of 22 cottages, at the top end of Pilot Road, just below the Ridge. Built in 1884, originally called Dover Terrace, then became Linton Terrace in 1910, then Linton Terrace Pilot Road in 1933 and finally Pilot Road in 1950. Does anyone have any info or history on these cottages or the immediate surrounding area?

My grand parents lived in this row of houses until the late 1960's, I remember one odd thing, they were numbered from the bottom to the top at the rear of the terrace and top to the bottom from the front. I believe the front side was Pilot Road and the rear Linton Terrace numbers. Is it still an unadopted road at this area?
