Pelham Fountain

Well I for one am glad they didn't opt for the helter skelter or large dolphin art installations that were threatened to grace the roundabout. The revamped Pelham fountain looks great. Well done to all involved.

Yes, it's great. I'm so glad the helter-skelter idea was dropped. The Council seems to get carried away with its own daft ideas sometimes. There are still the issues of privatising part of Bottle Alley and the kiosks to be dealt with.

we need a friendly local councillor who is concerned too and will correspond with us frequently, put us in the bigger picture and suggest what we can do, I guess.
Or is there generally too much apathy?
People just wanting to get on with their lives and not giving a stuff about what goes on basically.

I am told that kiosks of some sort have been tried by the council before, but they got heavily vandalised.

Let us hope they've put in an anti-foaming agent in the water. I well remember, in the 60s, that people used to tip boxes of soap powder in it and the reulting bubble bath spread over the road. Also, people used to put potassium permanganate crystals in which turned water a lovely shade of purple. Was it me, officer? I'm not saying........
