Clearly it is only with property that you encounter planning and building control issues.
Even obscure covenants can be resurrected to trip you up.
I recently sold a property with an 1876 covenant restricting the height of a passageway three doors down and had to agree to pay indemnity in case it had been contravened, it had not but it was easier to pay the charge than argue the case ad-infinitum, or potentially lose a sale down to
nit-picking solicitors demands.

Common-sense plays no part it would seem.

The planning permission finally came through for the balcony, a month after we took it down. We are going to plan the work for when we can afford it now LOL.

I'm off for a cold beer and a few days of rest.

Congratulations on tackling such a hugely complex project.
Not for the feint-hearted.

Coping with the damp and installing new plumbing for heating and electricity wiring alone is mind-boggling.

I will have to view the video's again, just my first-glance impressions.

I was thinking of taking a photo of the building (it looks splendid now, elegant and imposing), but the videos are excellent - beautiful interior. I love the chandeliers and the artworks, you could charge for a tour of those alone!
