Hi, I am trying to find any pictures of the Jenny Lind Pub preferably from 1950 to 1955.
I was born there in the fifties and would like to see how it looked around that time. I have scoured the internet, but cant see any that may be around 1950 to 1960. Does anybody have such a picture, or know where I may find one? Many Thanks

Re: 1950's Jenny Lind Pub Photos
The Jenny Lind suffered extensive damage during WW2, and as a result did not re-open until December 1950. It does hold the record of being the first premises to have been rebuilt in the old town following bombing during the war. In 1959 the British Heavyweight Boxing champion Don Cockell became the licensee. An image showing the damage (focused mainly on the adjacent Old Town Hall; the Jenny Lind is just visible to the right) is on this webpage:- https://historymap.info/Jenny_Lind

That’s such a lovely piece of history — being born at the Jenny Lind! I haven’t seen any photos from exactly that period myself, but have you tried reaching out to the Hastings Museum or local archives? Sometimes they have material that hasn’t been digitised. Also, some local Facebook history groups are surprisingly helpful for rare photos — worth a try if you haven’t already.
