When I was in London - I used a similar website to this one http://www.london-se1.co.uk/ They have a section on there forum called "Socials". It was really successful from what I remember. Anything from Mums with babies wanting to get together, pub quizzes, "I've just moved here anyone fancy Sunday Pub Lunch",even a whole cider making weekend developed (that I was involved it). i know people did get together as a result of the "socials".Something like that might work well here.
I vote for stealing the SE1's idea and creating a "socials" section. It sounds sociable not sad.

This seems to be a popular request across the various Hastings forums so I have started making a site specially for Hasting locals looking to meet each other online.

- try it for free with a simple sign up - Hastings Dating Site

Hi Charlotte, I was just wondering if your Hastings Dating site was going well. I am tempted to join, but how many local members have you got? Any one else given it a go yet?

Hey Marina

Yes it's going well, getting quite a few local members signed up now.

I am looking to get a banner ad on the forum, should help the membership even more.

unrealistic and old-fashioned as there are strictly two choices :-

"man looking for a woman"
or
"woman looking for a man"

why are you not able or willing to include people seeking 'same sex' relationships ?
perhaps they only exist in Brighton ?
:o

Hey Richard, thanks for your comments. I have looked in to this for you and it can be done although would involve a seperate network for gay and lesbian members. I am not sure the membership base would be large enough within the 15 miles radius to warrant setting it up.

Okay Richard, lets do this, I will start a new forum section for meeting people. Can you think of a catchy title for it? "Make new friends" sounds a bit sad as you say.

Need something that gets away from the idea that you are looking to "pull" someone

1. "A Friend In Need"

2. "Just Good Friends"

3. "Not Going Out"

Hi all, I have gone with Socials as suggested by Jennymole. We'll see if it proves popular over the next six months or so and keep it if it's a success. Happy posting!

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what the red symbol (maybe a file I think) to the left of the discussion title means on this forum?
I've seen it a couple of times and can't work out what it symbolises.

I know this isn't the most exciting contribution to the discussions, but I'd really like to know what it is for!

Now it seems to have changed to a symbol with fire! Why?
