Facebook Login for Forum

Can anyone see the advantage of me developing this feature for the forum?
Allowing people to use their Facebook accounts to log in rather than having to sign up separately.

It might encourage a few more to be active members. Maybe some people are put off by the need to create yet another account, so don't bother, but if they already have a Facebook account....

There might however be some concerns about posts on Facebook being accessible through this forum, or vice-versa - I don't really understand how it works technically.

I don't trust either of the two big American 'social media' attempts to use people to make money in that way...

How could you put an advert on those sites anyway ?

I am not intending to advertise with Facebook at all, just allow people that already have a Facebook account to use it as their login to the forum. Basically to save them having to sign up and login separately.

I am not a massive fan of social media either, but it's here to stay. As a web designer I have to embrace it and give honest advice to my customers.

I think its a good idea, as has been said social media is the way things are going,go with it and see what happens.

Great idea, I use Facebook lots and would find a unified login very useful. Looking forward to seeing progress on this.
