Problems accessing Forum

Postby moonjiver » Sun Oct 11, 2015 3:07 pm

There seems to be a problem getting quickly into the Forum! Last night I clicked on "Latest Posts" to check what threads were ongoing - it didn't work, I couldn't go any further.

Today, clicking on "Latest Posts" merely takes me back to the main index, once it led me straight into a piece about Hastings Direct!

Just a blip I hope ..

I am doing some upgrades over the weekend and into next week.
Hopefully any glitches will be short lived. I am trying to make it as painless as possible.
But if you constantly find an error (like hours on end) then please report it.

I just tried clicking "Latest Posts" again - didn't work at all, only some kind of index of categories came up.

I then went to the main forum "Index" and scrolled down to this thread - it didn't work this afternoon but has suddenly decided to work!

Sorry if I'm sounding niggly, was just getting a bit worried as to what was going on!

Not niggly at all MJ - thanks for pointing this out. The latest posts and topics feeds are both broken.
I am looking into this as a matter of urgency and will get back to you with an update asap.

Feeds should now be fixed. Bit of a nightmare but got there in the end :)

Working fine, thanks Geoff. What a wizard you are .. Slightly different look - bolder and better.

Now I can resume one of my daily rituals - after the news websites, also check the local news (or gossip) for what's really important ..

I get everything I need from "View active Topics" you can do that manually via 'Forums' / 'Forum Index' / 'View Active Topics'.
It would be tedious to do that every time so I just set 'View Active Topics' as a direct link on my Bookmarks. (simples!!).
But poor Geoff has to cater for many different approaches I expect.

I no longer see the scrolling lines showing the latest posts, for some reason and have no idea where the link to Facebook is supposed to be.

The facebook page for latest forum posts is here...
https://www.facebook.com/Hastings-Forum ... 876942438/

I don't tend to publicise it because it doesn't give you much more than a post title and photo (if one was used in the post). Maybe I will expand on it in the future but it's low priority at the moment.
