Hello, good people of Hastings, can you spare some time for me? We (my other half and me) plan to move to Hastings some time in the future if we like what we see and really want to know more about area than estate agents will tell us! So far all our research has been done on the net though obviously we're going to do several visits. We really need your take on the nicest area to live for round about the GBP140.000 mark. We've got no children to think about so no schools but want to live fairly close/accesible to town but also near a park or decent walks with a dog. I keep coming across the same area like Clive Vale, Blacklands and so and hope for some advice from people who know. Which areas would you say are a no? Please offer some advice. Thanks.

Clive Vale has some variable areas i have lived there previously and liked it. It has very good for access to the Glens, Ecclesborne, Fairlight and the East Hill. Is walking distance from the Old town (bohemiam)? Note, it is all uphill after the pubs close. Blacklands is a reasonable area and you have Alexandra Park nearby which has just been renovated if thats the right word. This is also within walking distance to Hastings town centre, and has very good local Chinese restaurant. If you are more specific re your interests this may have a bearing on choice.

Hi Peter thanks very much for replying! I really like the thought of living near to Alexandra Park- is it as nice as it looks in brochures?! and quite handy for the town as we want to be able to walk on the beach, go to the cinemas and so on. I don't drive so don't want to feel a long way from everything. I have a health problem so it would be handy if we were in easy reach of a health centre. Love walking so green areas that are dog friendly would be great. We only need a smallish two bedroom house, preferably older style. Thanks again for your help! Teresa.
