Hastings or St Leonards?

I am from London and planning to move to either Hastings or St.Leonards. I have looked at new houses in Queens Rd, Hastings and Springfield Rd, St.Leoanrds. Does anyone have any advice on the two areas - i.e. what they have to offer, crime rates, nightlife etc? From my visits it seems St.Leonards is more ''middle class'' than Hastings, but perhaps quieter and more for families? Is that right or a generalisation?

Speaking personally I would opt for Springfield rd. Queens rd is rather noisy and not very select.
Depends what you want from where you live, if it;s nightlife you're after then Queens rd is nearer to the pubs and nightclubs_ _ _you can stagger home!
St. Leonards is slightly more refined.
