Is it possible to live in Hastings and commute to London? Does anyone have experience of doing this?
Thanks in advance, Simon

Re: Commuting
Hi Simon
Both St Leonards and Hastings are on a main line to London and a suprising amount of people do commute. It's a fair old treck though so I would think carefully before deciding if it's worthwhile.
Hope this helps

Re: Commuting
How often is the train from Hastings to London delayed on the track? Are delays so frequent that they have to be allowed for in the communiting time?

Re: Commuting
I used to catch the London train daily. No problems in the mornings because the train starts it's day at Hastings. However the train home was delayed a couple of times a week. By about 10-20mins.
Hope this helps.

i commute 4 days a week-into london bridge
its a drag on the way home but essentially i dont mind it at all
the service i find good,if slow and expensive

Re: Commuting
More and more people are travelling from Hastings to London, due to a higher wage and because of the lack of jobs in the town. The trains have become better along with the station but it's a long tiring journey, but the trains are fairly consistent.
Re: Commuting
We're moving down to St leonards in about 8 weeks time and my husband will be commuting 2 days a week. When we first thought of moving down about 2 years ago we heard a lot of talk about this fast rail link being put in. Is this a myth or something that actually could happen?
Moving to Southwater Rd,
Hi I am thinking of moving from East London to St Leonard's I have seen a great flat in Southwater Rd, St Leonard's but don't know a lot about the area, also I will be commuting to Hackney 5 days a week, can anyone tell how much a monthly season ticket is.
Thanks in advance

Moving to Southwater Rd,
We're looking to move down later this year. My partner is looking to commute to London during the week - a season ticket from Hastings to London works out around GBP3000 a year. This would not include the fares from London terminals to Hackney, so allow extra for that!
Re: Commuting
Are you sure that you really want to live in Southwater Rd.
