Could anyone please tell me whether Blackman Avenue, St. Leonards-on-Sea, an O.K. area to live in?

I live near Blackman Avenue. It is like one big council estate, there is one shop and nothing much else. If you have no family or friends here it can get lonely and isolated. I want to move as soon as possible!!

A better area in the last couple of years. Much improved policing and getting more desirable. As Sandyboots said it is a bit out of the way so not much happening locally.

Certainly wouldn't be my first choice of places to live. I'm in Central St Leonards and I'll stay here given the choice.

I live on Wishing Tree Road which runs parallel to Blackman Ave. It's a nice part of SOS and I always feel comfortable here. The people are friendly and the local shop is pretty good, with Tesco within talking distance.

It's a nice road with some very nice houses on, particular at the Queensway end.
The only 'problem' is that it runs through Hollington, which is a large council estate.
As estates go, Hollington is actually okay to me. I would have NO hesitation wandering around any time of night or day. If you've visited estates in places up north or London, then you'll think Hollington is Knightsbridge.
But they tend to get slated in every town, don't they? For me, the scary areas of Hastings are Farley Bank (Ore - some of Ore is okay) and bits of central st leonards, although even that is a very diverse area and not wholey dodge.
