Moving to the area.

I want to move to hastings, i need to know about pubilc transport in the area and what are safe peacefull areas in which to live.
I am a mature black female on escaping a husband and grown children. i would like them reassured that i am safe and my grand children will be safe to visit.
help and advice will be appreciated.
