Moving to the area
Re: Moving to the area
Hi paul. have you had any luck with your move. There are landlords what will take on dss tenants, but it is proberbly very unlikely that they will take on tenants with no deposit,as they need to safeguard their investment.
Re: Moving to the area
I dont think there are any landlords who are willling to let people move in without a months rent in advance and a bond.

Re: Moving to the area
Oh thank you for that. Something draws me to Warrior Square and I am doing it all on my own so it's a little scary but very exciting all at the same time. I am viewing a basement flat with a patio and a second floor flat with sea views on Sat and am so looking forward to starting a new life by the sea.
Re: Moving to the area
April, you don't mention where your moving from. I would advise a walk about the immediate area. Try walking up Norman and Kings Road see if you like the vibe. Warrior Square has stunning architecture and beautiful views.
However this part of town seems most resistant to gentrification. The area has a arty bohemian feel it also has it's fair share of Street Drinkers and people with other problems.
I know several people who live in the area and would say opinion is divided.

Re: Moving to the area
As far as I understand from various people who have lived there. A lot depends on your near neighbours. People are definitely moving into warrior square but places that have lot of renters mean more chance of having difficult or disruptive people living nearby.
I did look at that area before moving but I was too afraid to take a chance and decided to move a little bit out to Albany Road. It's much quieter but within a few minutes walk of the town.
If you like St Leonards I would definitely recommend the top of Pevensey road, Markwick Terrace, Brittany and Dane Road area as worth a look and probably similar price to Warrior square.

Hello Duncan, I am moving from a village called Hextable not far from Swanley in Kent. After seeing your post I have just made arrangements to view a property in Markwick Terrace so thank you for that. I do love Warrior Square though, it's houses have loads of character and have seen a fabulous basement flat I like in the first part of Warrior Sq just up from the Nepalise restaurant on the corner.
