Moving to the area and need your help

Hi everyone,
I am also thinking of moving to St Leonards and have been looking online only, in particular at a house in Icklesham drive as there seem to be some detached houses in our price range.
I too am moving from london from an area which was once nice but now not so much >:(
I have a 15 month old child and so will be needing nursery school for when he is 3 and I really need to know if this area is ok. I really wnt to move for a better lifestyle, where people remember how to use manners, smile and generally say hello, and where children can still play.
We are coming for a visit at the weekend and I am very much looking forward to what St leonards has to offer and i am a little dissapointed we missed you festival!

We live in Kensington Close just off Icklesham Drive we moved here from St Albans 18 months ago and have never looked back.

The Icklesham Drive area is a fairly new estate comprising a mixture of private and social housing. We have found our close to be very quiet and all our neighbours are very nice.

At the bottom of the road is Robsack Wood school and nursery. It is the only Outstanding Ofsted school in Hastings and St Leonards.

The school is oversubscribed this year our 5 year old daughter has done really well and made lots of friends. Children come from all over Hastings and St Leonards to go to this school and I can't say enough good things about it.

Near the school is a one stop shop and an excellent chip shop.

Just up the road is a massive Tesco's and the area has good road links to the rest of the area. A bus service also serves Icklesham Drive but would recommend you have a car.

You didn't miss much the festival was a washout. For a real taste of the area check out Hastings Old town carnival week in August.

I think you will like the place,I personaly wouldnt live in the capital for all the money in the world,its a dump now.And London is now like a foreign country,st leonards on the other hand is still very much a english town with a english feel.

I like it here and have lived in lots of places. Some areas that might be consider the best places to live in the country for example Bath, Cornwall and Richmond.

jo39 you can't just say to someone don't move here. You need to give them information on why you don't like it so they can make an informed decision.

Agreed,just saying dont move there is not enough,detail or the reasons why are whats needed.But they havent replied so I think that says enough.
