Never mind 'terrible', some who I've seen and heard rocketing around the local streets at plus 60mph - often sometimes in the small hours of the morning - are out-and-out bloody psychos. Everything else is spot-on though.

A calender of social events that very few towns the size of Hastings can match_ _ _Brighton doesn't come even close in this aspect_ _ _.live music most days of the week_ _ _and Sunday (afternoon and evening) is always special in the Old Town. Mustn't forget all the fantastic characters in and around the Old Town_ _ _.some of whom have become good friends in the 3 1/2 years since we moved down here.

Great shout Michael, I'd replace considerate drivers with social events. There really are some terrible drivers in the area, they all either seem to drive too fast like a lunatic, or 2 bloody slow because old Ethel can barely see over the steering wheel and beyond the bonnet!

Apart from that can't fault your list.

The bit about the drivers is two-edged - I have nearly been mown down a couple of times at junctions near Morrissons (and feared for my life) but find that if I am crossing a main road on foot cars will often slow down and wave me across even though I have no right of way.

ok no.10. can be the sheer variety of and pubs and live music.

The Royal Albion in George Street has seen better days - would recommend stripping out the worn and badly smelling carpet from the 1950's and polishing the floorboards underneath instead - surely nobody likes that carpet!!
Keep the unique Tartan areas but clean them as a fascinating feature.
The whole interior could look good again but why can't they be arsed?

The flooding bit might be challenged at the moment! You missed the best crazy golf courses in England.

flooding - or at least the effects of prolonged and heavy rain upon some buildings in Old Town and White Rock, not to mention the cliffs at Rock A Nore.

Crazy Golf - I forgot !!

Also the festivals and Pub Music and eccentric and warm, friendly locals.
