Mount pleasant road

Hi,
Me and my husband are moving down to Hastings soon from London, we are seriously considering purchasing a house at the bottom end of mount pleasant road, does anyone have any experience or words of wisdom reguarding this area? Good location or somewhere to avoid?

Cheap properties along there - but people seem to be putting off any major committments until Brexit has settled down as prices are likely to wobble.
Depends what you are happy to tolerate, social housing in large blocks nearby can put some off, do you like the area in general? Some poorly-maintained properties and the constant exposure to a long road is downside.
Try to move near properties that are cared for and have at least a decent garden with a bit of a view to counteract the roadside.
What are your priorities and how much can you afford for repairs as Hastings everywhere has a lot of buildings that are Victorian and hide maintenance issues, roof, windows, damp.

Thanks so much for getting back to me Richard , the house we are looking at does indeed have a lovely garden and a really great view, we are really just trying to weigh up whether we can sacrifice living on such a busy road, we did discount it at first for that reason but once inside the house has a lovely feel and garden is very private. It does need a lot of work, but we hopefully have budgeted for that and are prepared for a bit of a project!
It was more if the road is known for being 'rough' as such or a road to avoid.

If you are waiting for Brexit to "settle down" you will have a long wait....2019 probably.
Brexit should be viewed as a great opportunity to get on with our lives free of red tape and bureaucrats, it can't come soon enough.

I should clarify my statement "until Brexit has settled down".
I meant until after the announcement of actually invoking article 50, when the negotiations of a withdrawal agreement have to commence.
It is true that the whole process will take many years but the EU needs the formal notification before they can act and as soon as we have the bones of the agreement in place we can move ahead.

My builder says he is delaying buying another house until after article 50 has been triggered.
Is he right? I don't know.
If we insist on Border Controls then we may be kicked out of the single market and that could affect property prices?
I suspect the 'single market' membership contention will have to be sorted out as a top priority.
