Moving to Harrow Lane
Re: Moving to Harrow Lane
Clarendon Close is at the bottom of Harrow Lane. At certain times of the day there is traffic congestion with cars trying to turn into Sedlescombe Road North. Things might be getting much worse soon as this wonderful council seem to want to build a lot of houses up on the Ashdown House site and also the Harrow Lane playing field. If this happens then they will be a huge increase of traffic up and down Harrow Lane.
Harrow Lane playing field was gifted to Hastings Borough Council. When that happened covenants were put on the deeds that meant it would remain an area for the residents to enjoy. However our wonderful council have decided that the covenants can be broken by selling the site for development !

Re: Moving to Harrow Lane
Has it been sold yet?
Try to locate a copy of the original deed or transfer setting out the terms of the restrictive covenant.
The site for protesting is here:

890 have signed now, 1000 are needed to receive attention?

Re: Moving to Harrow Lane
I would suspect that it could be sold but that the terms of the covenant would still apply.
Better still to apply to the council/new owner to have it given 'village green' status.
