Glenside Childrens Home

Postby marcia_leacock » Mon Mar 24, 2008 6:30 pm

Hello readers! My name is marcia leacock I was a foster child at a childrens home called Glenside childrens home from 1970 to around 1972 located at 120 old london road, Hastings, East Sussex. Does anyone know about this home. I have tried unsuccessfully to pull it up on the Internet. I believe it is no longer in operation. I am eager to hear from anyone who knows anything about this place. I have lived in the USA since 1983 and would love to go back and visit this place. I have such fond memories of Hastings! I went to Sacred Heart Primary School and then to St. Richards-on-Sea secondary school for a brief time before going back to london to live with my mother. Please, please if anyone knows anything about what happened to this home or knows anyone who went there I would dearly appreciate you getting in touch with me at marcialeacock@Yahoo.com

Hi,

I lived there in 1982-83. It was run by a guy called Mick, his wife Carmena(?) and a pal, Bernie plus various other staff.

I remember a lad who'd lost half a leg in a bike accident, my room mate Pinky and best pal Aubrey who i sadly lost touch with.

hope everyone who stayed there went on top long and happy lives :)
