I think by your actions you will struggle to get people to engage with you, after all you come across as a snob to be honest and one who seems to delight in it,you invite people then you insult them, still at least its good to know what kind of person you are now rather than meet you socially.could never talk to someone like you to be honest.

roy hello, actually the bit you were offended by must have been when I said I didn't want any drunken riff-raff in my house, but in the context it's hardly meant to be taken as a genuine insult (and it's generalised instead of person-specific)

Calling individual people snobs online, however, is 'sailing close to the wind' in terms of making a personal attack which becomes a more serious matter !!

I notice it's not the first time you have done it to people on this web-site

Maybe you should think before you go round making cutting remarks, after all that way no one can take offence can they.
Because lets be honest you was the one who made the cutting remarks here in the first place,as to personal attacks I dont like to do that but sometimes they deserve it,I say it how I find it.
I'm not going to comment further on this thread, lets just agree to disagree shall we and move on.

ok roy

lI apologise if you were offended
Perhaps with hindsight I should have realised that only friends can understand nuance and jest and since we hadn't met up in person it was a liberty on my part to try to tease you by referring to "drunken riff raff" or similar

The quote from the Roman author was self-referential, meaning I wish I'd never opened my mouth

HAPPY EASTER !!

So does this mean that the group will never meet? I'm still waiting for you a date to be set.
Hope you have a good Easter!

I'm away until after the 14th/15th April, roy can only do Thurs.nights !!

_ _ _possibly there is a need to think about a way of advertising a venue and repeat meetings (once a month?) as a special event, somewhere on this website.
Otherwise it all looks a bit clique-ish and hidden from general view?
A few people have expressed an interest and others might take notice if there is a structure of advertised meet-ups in a pub (pubs could be changed now and then - if wanted)
People could drop by to say hello ?

Many ideas to discuss, needs more input_ _ _
