Seagull Prevention

I am installing 'roof netting' this year as the seagulls are not paying enough rent.
I get the odd fish-bit and a small mussel or a crab-claw, from time to time if I am lucky, but really it's not good enough and they will have to go !!

Yes, but another 10 million have joined it since then!

the RSPB state the following:

"The herring gull is now red-listed owing to the severe declines in its national breeding population,"

740 000 over-wintering in total
140 000 breeding pairs

740 minus 280 (2X140 ) = 460 000 juvenile/non-breeding Gulls.

I find it hard to believe they are seriously in decline in Hastings and am surprised people are not allowed to prevent roof-nesting.

Yes I find it hard to believe too - they should ask someone who lives in the Old Town. The real question is - how can they possibly know? :whistle:
