Does anyone know the origins of the tiny burger grill building near Mr Bean coffee house and town hall Hastings?
It looks like a part of the town hall and built in the same style for some reason so what was its function originally?

Tiny Burger Building
I seem to remember that it was the entrance to a public gents' at one time, but I could be wrong. Also the area next to the Town Hall at one time was some sort of a bus depot - maybe connected with that?
Re: Tiny Burger Building
Yes, this small building was a gents toilet in the 60's and 70's and later was converted into a small betting shop. The area behind the present entrance to the shopping centre was used as a 'stand' for the country buses and adjoined the Central Cricket Ground.
Re: Tiny Burger Building
so it was built as a gent's toilet (or entrance to larger pissoir ?) in the 1960's ?
the mind boggles !!

Nice pic Richard. Do you mind if I stick it in the gallery?

Of course I don't mind, Geoff !!
as it's from a 1910 Magic Lantern slide I assume it's common property by now?

I am sure that the turret was as, is described as the entrance to the Cricket ground. Next to that was the gate entrance to the Coach Station and then the toilet was closer to the Town Hall entrance on the left of the station gates. In later years I have a vague memory that the turret may have been a porch for the coach inspector.

Added, thanks Richard. I have credited it to the library where the slide resides.
