Can You Help Identify This Photo Please?

Postby Pennie » Sun Oct 11, 2009 4:29 pm

Just come across this brilliant website, and am hoping that you may be able to identify the location of this photograph.

My father appears in the picture, and from his age I would guess the photo was taken in the 1930s. His parents lived all their married life in Hastings and I'm guessing that it was some sort of "family day out" in Hastings or the surrounding area.

Have checked lots of historical photos, but no luck yet!

Any help much appreciated. Many thanks.

Pennie

This picture looks like it has been taken on the West Hill.

That structure in the background is still there in some shape or form and the seasaw in the picture is still the grounds for a playground.

In the background you can see St. Mary's Terrace on the left,

Hope this helps.

Yep, definately the West Hill. Nice family shot.

Glad you like the website Pennie.
