hi all i am new to this forum and i am really hoping someone will be able to help me. i am researching a man called roland herbert muddiman and h father herbert arthur muddiman. i have found that roland was residing at 8 kings road st leonard on sea, and was running a fancy goods shop called The Quality Shop. in 1962 he i mentioned in the london times under the bankrupcy act.
firstly i wondered if anyone actually remembers this man himself? at the moment he is just a name to me in my family tree who inherited a lot of money from his mother and father (his father was an imitation leather manufactor in essex) and seemingly lost it all. it would be lovely to find someone who remembers him.
secondly does anyone know of the shop. i have googled street viewed this address and it is mo longer a shop i think, but then google maps only gives you a estamated place not exact so it could still be a business place. i would love to see a photo of what it looked like then. also does anyone remember what this place actually sold?i have no idea what fine goods are!
thank you in advance for any help anyone can give xx

This number 8 is still a shop, it now sells what you might call fancy goods, from my Directories it seems that RHM was in this shop for one year only and I could find no record of him living in the area, perhaps he lived on the premises as there are flats overhead..I looked at Googles Street View and it did not show Kings Road because at the time they were filming the road had been taken up for so-called improvements..I did see the camera going down Kings Road a few months ago but when they will put up a newer View I cannot say..Funny enough the shop seemed to change nearly every year or so for different trades
