Hi everyone.
I have just moved to Hastings from Scotland around 4 months ago to live with my Fiance and would like to make new friends. Im 24 and like pubs and movies. I have tried to search for groups or something to make friends but with scattered shifts at work I would find it difficult to attend.

Sorry Starlight, but pubs and movies doesn't really give us much to go on.
Your tastes in music would probably be more useful. Hastings is a friendly town, but it's probably best if you tread carefully until you get the feel of the place.
I'd recommend the Marina Fountain pub in West St Leonards or the Carlisle in the town centre if you're into rock music. Despite their reputation as biker's pubs, they're fairly tolerant places that just about anybody can visit and there's rarely any trouble. Bikers get a bad press, but the local bikers are mostly great people.
There's also the Royal Standard, the Nelson and the Jenny Lind in the Old town, the Lord Warden in Manor Road and the Imp (Imperial) in Queen's Road.
Once you get to know a few people, you'll aquire friends naturally. At your age you might feel more comfortable at somewhere like Frenchs, although from a personal standpoint, I'd avoid the Robertson Street pubs like the plague. The Smugglers was the exception, but sadly, it's now closed.
As I've said before on other threads, the best thing to do is explore different pubs until you find one with music, people and an envioroment you're comfortable with. Naturally, I can only recommend pubs I'm familar with and I'm very much older than you are, but the places I've mentioned are pubs anyone can go to without worry.

Re: Looking for friends.
PS: The Clarence at Silverhill is another friendly pub to visit in the afternoons, but I don't know what it's like in the evenings. If you see Wobbly Bob sitting outside, say hi.
Re: Looking for friends.
Thanks for the reply Terry.
A few people have suggested The Fountain and I think my Fiance used to play there when he was in a band in his teens. As he is 14 years older than me it would have to be somewhere he would enjoy as well.
We live in the Hollington area, do you know if there is anywhere closer to home? Trekking into town seems a bit far just for a few drinks, but I will check it out soon.

Don't know Hollington too well. The Clarence at Silverhill's the only pub up that way I use regularly and then only in the afternoon. The problem with the Marina Fountain is the location. I live on Hastings West Hill! Train to West St Leonards and a ten minute walk is the usual method.
Re: Looking for friends.
The North Star is in Bohemia, thats quite a nice, no pretensions pub and aboug 15 minutes walk from most of Hollington.
