I've also just moved here and would also welcome this sort of socialising. Another Richard (above) suggested two places but I don't know either of them - any further thoughts, anyone? What times? I'm semi-retired so can do any time apart from Wednesday mornings.

Hi everyone. My friend and I are trying to get a weekly coffee morning/social/ craft group formed. Just something where people can get together, chat, do crafts, maybe arrange other activities. At the moment , we are just seeing if we get any interest in this. We are both in our fifties,so if you are in that age group, and think you may be interested in coming to a group like that, please leave me a message on here. Thanks for reading this.

Hello Peggy
I'm surprised that no-one has replied. I think it's a great idea. I went to a club for retired people the other day but found that most people were sitting alone, no-one was talking and it was like walking into a mortuary. Very sad.
I'm in my late fifties and find it easy to meet people, but difficult to make friends. Just someone to have a cup of tea with would be nice. Let me know if you find any good places to go.
Kind regards

Hello Peggy,
I do like the idea. I am not really a craft person, but I like the idea to meet other people. I am moving to St Leonards next week, actually on Saturday, and yes, I would definitely like to chat with others. It is a marvellous idea. I do not know how big the group now is, really.

ok so there is a good response for those who want to form or join a meeting venue for Social/Crafts etcetera and there are certain days that can and cannot work for various reasons.
eliza - Is there still a possible venue in CSL and with days/dates?
then we can make a start on a first meeting.
If eliza is not still around then we will have to move to 'Plan B'
