Does anyone commute from Hastings to Brighton?

Hi,

I am interested in moving to St Leonards but I would have to keep my job in Brighton for the time being. I thought the train service between the two places would be really good but I am disappointed to find out that the earliest trains are after 8 am which is around the time I start work.

Does anyone else do this journey daily or have any ideas on the best way? I don't drive so it would have to be by public transport.
