TV dilemma!

Postby Jai » Thu Sep 23, 2010 7:54 pm

Hi,
I've just moved into a flat in Marina with, amongst other things, a digital TV but alas there is no aerial on my building. I've tried an indoor aerial which was totally useless. I'd really appreciate some helpful ideas on how I can get viewing. I know we all moan about rubbish programmes but after I get in from work it's just nice to unwind in front of the "box", especially when it's actually broadcasting!

Anyone have any respectable suggestions?

Hi Jai

I guess the building you are in has no aerial because it wouldn't work anyway. It is the same where I am in West Hill Road. All of the 24 flats here have Sky dishes as satellite is the only way to get TV. Sorry, probably not the answer you wanted. There's also Freesat these days if you don't want to pay the Sky subscription (currently GBP18 p/m for the minimum package I believe), but you'll need a dish either way.

Hope that helps

Hi Jay, I've no answer but suffer from the same problems that you do.
Loads of folks in Hastings have a dreadful time getting a decent picture.

I've been looking at internet TV which means that signal wouldn't be an issue. Check out my thread on BT infinity.. as they're talking about installing fiber optic based on a voting system. This means that various other companies (not just BT) would be able to provide fiber optic speed broadband TV and would seriously solve a lot of our problems.

(personally I think BT should supply fiber optic to those that can't get decent signals.. but then thats me)

Best wishes
Lisa
