I used to go on the pier every Sat from 1957 /64 till I moved away.after a few drinks on the way,usually finishing in the Palace Bar before we went on.The bands I remember seeing,Hollies(twice)Searchers (twice)Johnny Kidd, Tornados,Freddie Garrity,Kenny Ball a few times,Gerry and Pacemakers and many more.Big bands on at White Rock inc.Ted Heath,Acker Bilk (Pre
Stranger on the shore) Ken Mackintosh,Chris Barber.The Dolphin Trad Jazz
with Pete Treger played in the caves on Fridays.Temperance Seven played the old Bathing pool a couple of times

My Mum used to go the pier a lot to see bands etc, thats where she met my Dad, so without those bands/pier I wouldn't be here.
