Many Thanks

Caves road is not somewhere I would consider, some cheep very small modern houses, some derelict victorian properies, a few tatty commercial units and a bl**dy big cliff. To be honest I find it a bit of an eyesore down there but each to there own, go and check it out.
Hope this helps.

Areas to avoid??
Re: Areas to avoid??
I think the Warrior Square will be v.desirable very soon. I moved here 3 years ago and I have seen the area has changed dramatically for the better. In fact I read somewhere that Graham Norton has just bought a flat on Warrior Sq recently. Whilst not a major fan it's a good barometer of where the area is heading!

Re: Areas to avoid??
I'm growing increasingly worried by the growing level of idiotic intolerance in this town and this country as a whole. Chavs, junkies and alcoholics are human beings first and foremost: some are good, some are bad, but most hover around the centre ground, just like any other group of people.
The sub-humans are those who unfairly condemn them without hesitation or proper justification. Wearing a black hat does not automatically make you a bad guy. I know who I'd rather live next door to and its certainly NOT some of the intolerant numbskulls above.

Re: Areas to avoid??
I live on the edge of st leonards-on-sea ,never any trouble up here,i can see Eastbourne from my drive.I did visit Eastbourne flat and boring ,shops looking sad, cant not hold a candle to the old town.I used to go to Eastbourne in my younger days, but its gone down hill.If you wont to live where your neighbours work etc you need to buy in the areas that they do work.
Hi RobDavis if i was you i would go for the old town, west hill or were we live down from banntnyes i never see trouble .We go to the old town your spoilt for choice with the pubs,go to the filo [first in last out] ask down there what your looking for ,im sure they will help.Good luck

Hi,
I know this is very subjective, but in most towns\cities there are areas you just don't consider moving into. I assume St Leonards has them too, so could somebody let me know what they think? We're aiming to try and move from the east midlands in the spring. We have very fond memories of Hove between 1983 and 1988, before it went self-conscious and trendy, and quite frankly are looking for something similar to that - quirky, individual, arty and not London By The Sea.
My wife and I are late 50's, from an entertainment background, so we're not looking for something THAT quiet and secluded - we'd like a bit of LIFE around, but on the other hand we're not that wild at the thought of having to pick our way through too many syringes.
Thanks

Hi Rob,
I used to live in Eversfield Place, St Leo, right on the seafront, loved my flat but there was a lot of traffic noise and the stretch of beach opposite tended to attract mainly the younger crowd. I've recently moved towards West St Leo, just past the iconic Marine Court building, still on the seafront and it's less noisy, beach less 'populated' and there's a lovely arty ambience to this end of town. Plenty of places to eat, have coffee or a glass of wine. If you enjoy the art scene, we have galleries too. I'm still only a ten minute walk from the station.
Hope this helps with your decision.

Re: Areas to avoid??
I lived in Notting Hill Gate in 1963 and I loved it. At the time it was reported to be a very dangerous place to live because of race riots.
I was 17 and my boyfriend was 18, we both went where we wanted to go either individually or together and neither of us had any problems. On one occasion we were the only white faces at a really happy and memorable party.
I moved from West London to St Leonards on my own at the age of 60 years, there was a silly kid selling drugs in the house where I lived which was causing problems for all of the residents. I asked him to stop selling drugs from the house or move out, he moved out after some silly threats.
There are NO areas to avoid in Hastings or St Leonards, but there are some apathetic residents and negative thoughts. So take on the challenge and turn it around.
I can find Nothing At All Wrong with living here, it is a beautiful place and it is a joy to be part of it!
