Can anyone tell me what had happened to Spyway School located at Gillsman's Hill, St. Leonards-on-sea? I left this school for almost 20 years. I remember the headmaster was Mr Norman Windfield. I heard some said he committed suicide in 90's. Some teachers are still in my memory such as Mr Van Gelder, John William, Mr and Mrs Monk. The part time girl who used to prepare the meal in the school canteen was called Faye. I think she is in her mid 30's now. She used to go the school called the Grove School near Spyway. If anyone know any of the above mentioned people, please tell them to leave theirs contacts. Thank you.

Re: Spyway School
Spent 82 Easter at Spyway when it was in Dorset, but became full time during 83-86 when it was in St Leonards, Hastings. I got a worse memory than Patrick, vaguely remember some of the names but will surely remember if there are some photos. Definitely remember Pavel. Some of the teachers who I would love to get back in touch, the English teacher during 82 Easter. Physics teacher, I think it is Paul, then our mathematic teacher who wore a Hitler style moustache etc. Welcome all messages from old colleagers and teacher during 1982-1986. kongfhac@yahoo.com

Hi Bijan
Are you by any chance the Bijan we used to call Bijan Barghi? The Bijan with Russian ancestry?
I was at Spyway International just north of Swanage 77/78, Also I remember a short stay for Easter in 76. A whole bunch of us got transferred there when Melbrek study center in Farnham Surrey closed down. Reading your post brought a few memories back, I did not remember any ones name until I read your post.
During my stay, the room at the end of the hollway were guys as you wrote in your post, Kurosh, Payman, Andreh, Amir,
[Bahman I do not remember.]
If I remember right Payman was Amirs cousin who was transferred from Woodiates study center, Andreh was the Armenian guy, Now I also remember Mehrdad, as I was reading the posts, but he has his years as early 80s, I remember the Mehrdad, who at the time had a brother studding at UCLA, I remember this becuse Mehrdad had a red T shirt with UCLA embossed on it, and I used to read it as UKLA, till he corrected me and said where it came from.
Now If you are the Bijan that I am talking about then you should remember Attabak and Babak Haghighi Arjomand [All this names are begining to come to me after reading the posts.]
I am the guy that used to build the airplanes, Bill Monk had the little room converted just for me and you, with you working on electronics and I on modeling. Also you should remember Hrair my cousin.
Talk of time travel!

Hi Everyone,
I was a student also at Spyway international school in Langton Matravers in the early 80's and would love to get intouch with the old lot. I had no idea the school moved. As far i knew the school that we went to turned in to a mental hospital! and closed only a few years ago.
What ever happened to Bill and Rachael, i really like to hear from them.
Is it true that Norman killed him self?
We always suspected Norman and Peter were strange, actually it was a running joke between the iranian students. Henry was the Polish one right? I know were Andreh, Payman, Kurosh and Bahman are, others please drop me a line, my address is "823609(at)g7rwr.demon.co.uk" replace the (at) with @ or spams follow_ _ __ _ _..

I would love to have a bit in the history section about Spyway. If anyone knows enough to write a paragraph or two of brief history then I will of course add it to the website.

Re: Spyway School
Hi Carly
How about starting with a few facts about the place, like when was it built? Was the building anything else before Spyway school? When did the school open? How many pupils? When did it close and why? I take it Spyway was a boarding school with pupils of all nationailities. Was that right?
That should give me something to start with.
Many thanks
Geoff
